Statement of Purpose
My goal is to create a classroom atmosphere in which all of my students feel valued, respected, safe, and open to learning new concepts and ideas. As a group we will create a predictable and orderly environment that will support everyone to achieve that goal. Expectations, rules and procedures will be taught and practiced throughout the year to insure student understanding. Behavior will not impede the learning environment.
I believe the purpose of classroom management is to support students and teachers in achieving these goals by outlining the expectations and procedures that guide our daily classroom functions and interactions.
I intend to acknowledge the positive behavior of my students, while providing support to those who need more guidance. Each student is a unique individual who has distinct strengths that deserve to be noted, as well as difficulties that may require additional support and encouragement. As the adult in the classroom, I aim to acknowledge positive behavior and teach my students how to self-regulate and apply problem solving skills when conflicts arise.
